Hello, we welcome you to another issue of Nutrition Insights!
In this issue, we talk about “Renal and Renal diseases”. Renal issue refers to any health problem that affects the kidneys, which are the two bean-shaped organs located in the back of the abdomen that filter waste products from the blood and help regulate the body’s fluid and electrolyte balance.
We educate you on what are the different kinds of renal diseases and how certain dietary, and food changes and modifications help you cope with your existing renal issues and health. We have experts share information on different topics such as intradialytic parenteral nutrition, inflammation in CKD(Chronic kidney disease) and the role of nutrition & food, review of renal nutrition guidelines, role of body composition in renal patients, nutritional losses in haemodialysis & peritoneal dialysis (hd & pd) patients and how to replenish it, pre and probiotic use in clinical practice and many more.
Symptoms of renal issues may include changes in urine output or appearance, swelling in the legs, ankles, or feet, high blood pressure, nausea or vomiting, and fatigue. Treatment will depend on the specific type and severity of the renal issue but may involve medication, lifestyle changes, and in some cases, dialysis or kidney transplant.
We also bring to you patient case stories that show the importance of nutrition in CKD and how to combat and live with it.
As always, Nutrition Insights, brings to you some yummy, easy-to-make, healthy recipes, and gives you a chance to feature your recipes and expertise in our upcoming issues!
